Cracked Heel Whipped Butter!

Feet a little rough?  Or maybe you just want to keep them baby soft!  This recipe by my friend, McKenna Gordon, is awesome!  I love the fact that it has magnesium in it too.  So many people are deficient in magnesium.  Enjoy!

Cracked Heel Whipped Butter Ingredients

•¼ cup Shea Butter OR Mango Butter

•¼ cup Coconut Oil

•3 Tablespoons Beeswax

•¼ cup Magnesium Flakes + 2 Tablespoons boiling water

•7 drops Frankincense Essential Oil

•7 drops Cypress Essential Oil

•5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

•5 drops Cell Therapy Essential Oil Blend

Directions:

Scoop the magnesium flakes into a small bowl and pour 2 tablespoons of boiling water over them stirring until it dissolves. This will create a thick liquid. Set aside to cool.

Fill a small sauce pan with 2 inches of water. Then place an empty quart size mason jar inside the sauce pan. Add the coconut oil, beeswax and mango/shea butter to the mason jar and heat it on medium.

The beeswax will be the last thing to melt. When everything is melted, remove the jar from the pan and let the mixture cool to about room temp and slightly opaque. At this point, pour it into a medium sized mixing bowl.

Use a hand blender or immersion blender on medium speed and start blending the oil mixture.

Very slowly, over the course of about a minute, add the dissolved magnesium mixture to the oil mixture while continuing blending until all of the magnesium mix is added and it is well-mixed.

Add the essential oils and whip until combined.

Place in the fridge for 20 minutes and re-blend to get body butter consistency.

Fill your jar and put it on your bedside table, or store it in the fridge for longer shelf life and an amazing cooling effect.

The first three nights: Apply a thick coat and wear socks to bed. After major cracks have gone away, apply less thick and rub in like a lotion before bed, no socks necessary. For even better results, exfoliate dry feet first using a pumice or foot file, then soak your feet in hot epsom salt water, let dry and apply the butter.

Baking Soda Face Scrub

I love..love…love to make my own scrubs!  This is one of my favorites for your face.  I love to use baking soda, as it helps to balance your ph and is less abrasive than sugar or salt.

This is my latest recipe!

1 1/2 cups of coconut oil

2 cups baking soda

1 T Manuka Honey (optional)

25 drops Améo Rosemary essential oil

3 drops Améo Lemon essential oil

(Améo Lavender is also a favorite to use, use your fav’s)

Whip with and electric mixer.

This will make 3 to 4 jars depending on the size you choose.  Mine is 8 oz.

Oil Pulling…..What The Heck Is It!!

I heard about Oil Pulling over a year ago, and I admit it… I now do this just about every morning!  TMI you say…well, if you gain some benefits, then it was worth sharing!  Sometimes I put a drop of Améo Tea Tree Oil or Peppermint in it too!!!  Check out the following… http://www.healthy-holistic-living.com/oil-pulling-research-finally-reveals-thought-along.htmloilpulling… you may want to start this ritual too!!  I also do it while I’m in the shower.. don’t spit it out down the sink.. your plumber won’t be happy!

Luscious Lemon Cupcakes

Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday!  She loves it when I bake her birthday goodies.  I, myself, am not a dessert eater…but do love to create at times! In a #pinch, and not really wanting to take the time to come up with a recipe,  I found myself in the #baking aisle at the market checking out all of the boxed mixes…however, not loving the preservatives, etc. that they contain.. one caught my eye…  Immaculate, Naturally Delicious, Yellow Cake SCRATCH Baking Mix!  So I came up with a plan!!  I decided to replace a few of the baking ingredients with lemon and coconut oil!

The recipe called for 3/4 cup of milk… I replaced it with 3/4 cup of freshley squeezed lemon juice..My dad grows the best lemons!

Then…instead of the 3/4 cup of butter, I used 3/4 cup of organic virgin coconut oil..

And of course the 4 eggs I used were Free Range Organic..

I then #zested the lemon rinds and added that to the mix!

I used the mini baking cups…I feel that that is a perfect size for people to taste…

I preheated the oven to 325*.

I baked them between 15 and 18 minutes.  Make sure to check centers with a toothpick!

I refrigerated them until the next day when I had time to frost them!  I topped them with a Cream Cheese frosting!

I must say…they were a hit!  YAY!IMG_4864

Anti inflammatory smoothie

1 cup berries of your choice (such as blueberries, raspberries, cranberries)
1 compressed cup of leafy greens of your choice (such as kale, spinach)
2 inch (5 cm) piece of ginger
1 tablespoon unrefined coconut oil
1 teaspoon, or more, of fresh chia seeds
Green tea
A little bit of honey, maple syrup, or stevia to sweeten (if needed)

Directions

Put all ingredients in a blender (add green tea according to your desired consistency). Drink immediately to enjoy the most nutritional benefits.
